A recent report found that 20 per cent of Indian girls drop out of school after reaching puberty. Meanwhile, 88 per cent of menstruating women living in the country use home-grown alternatives to sanitary pads such as old fabric, rags, and sand. This documentary shows how a pad machine challenged customs and gave women a solution for hygienic products as well as livelihood and self-worth.
Bev Bachmayer will screen the documentary and discuss ideas on how women’s health is important. Come join us on 17 May, we will provide some healthy snacks for lunch.
