BABY & TODDLER GROUP

Monday (weekly) from 15:00 to 16:30    AWA Clubhouse

Elaine Tham is assisting Stephanie Barrett and will play her guitar and sing some well known children’s songs, such as I am a Teapot, in English. The sessions are great fun, attracting babies and toddlers up to two years old!

If you are already familiar with the fun of playing American Mahjong or are just wondering what all the cracking and bamming is about, come join us to play or to learn.

The Scrabble Group has extended its repertoire to include Rummikub - a numbers game, Banana - a fast paced numbers game and Boggle. Come and try your luck.

INTEGRATIVE BREATHING *NEW*

Thursday 16 November at 14:00-15:30   AWA Clubhouse

AWA member, Dagmar, will lead this new activity of integrative breathing which is a tool to reduce stress, open blockages, increase energy, deal with anger, discover our potential and live with passion. Bring a blanket and loose clothing. No perfume please. Donations to the Save our Clubhouse fund is welcome.

Maria Cilberti and Kirsten Detrick both hold senior positions in Borealis and Takeda, respectively. To share experiences and establish camaraderie, they have generously agreed to host a networking evening for AWA members who are professional, working women.

TOUR OF RAPHAEL AND BRUEGEL EXHIBITIONS, Albertinaplatz 1, 1010 Vienna

The two exhibitions close soon, Bruegel, the Elder, ends on December 3 (80 paintings and drawings) and Raphael ends January 7 (17 paintings and 80 drawings). Nayiri is keen to get a groupe together with audio guides, €4, to see the painting before they leave Vienna. Entry fee €12.90, €9.90 for over 65's.

Join the free tour of the Rathaus organised by the city for new arrivals to Vienna. It is an amazing building with a fascinating history. After the tour, there are three brief talks on Waste disposal, Medical services in Vienna and the City Internet system. Refreshments are also available afterward at no cost.

Dr. Engelsman has led the re-creation of the new and excellent exhibition space in the former Volker Museum, closed for the past few years. He will outline the reasons for the closure, the changes in Ethnological Museums across the world and the rationale for the new format; a highly recommended speaker by several AWA members.

Entry costs €9 and members are able and recommended to visit the 14 rooms of exhibits afterwards.

SNOWGLOBE MUSEUM TOUR

SNOWGLOBE MUSEUM, Schumanngasse 87, 1170

This tour is one of AWA regular events, starting with a glass of Pünsch and hearing how the snowglobes were accidentally invented; why Santa Claus is not a huge figure in Austria; and watching machines churn out plastic pigs for New Year’s. The tour is free and the globes are on sale in the shop. Tram 42 from Schottentor.
