Supporting community and charitable organizations has been a key component of the mission of the AWA since its founding in 1924. AWA currently has programs that increase awareness and provide financial assistance to organizations in Austria that serve women, children and families. We organize hands-on volunteer projects and fundraising activities that provide members with opportunities to use their  skills to help others in need.

 

In September 2011, AWA sponsored a Vienna-wide international community service project,  AWARE: Service in Austria. We collected school supplies for refugee kids, and delivered the donations to the  refugee support programs of Caritas, Diakonie and Menschen.Leben. To learn more, see the AWARE website.

 

Volunteers Welcome

Do you love to sew or bake? Are you gifted at organizing events? Does your talent lie in influencing others to help a great cause? There are great opportunities to become involved in charitable projects with AWA. The Charity Distribution Team would love to hear from you if you're interested in helping to raise funds for charity or volunteering. Opportunities include organizing fundraising events; volunteering with children and young adults; providing food, school supplies, or other necessities to families in need; and more.
